Wines & Cider

Rams Head Marquette
Red | 2017 Minnesota Cold Climate Grape
A medium-bodied wine with bold fruit flavor. The “Marquette grape” was patented by the University of Minnesota as a hybrid in 2006, said to be the grandson of Pinot Noir and a cousin of Frontenac. The grape finds its name from Jesuit missionary, Pere Marquette, a 17th century explorer in North America.

Mildred Red Merlot
Red | 2017 California Grape
With bold, smooth flavor, Painter Creek’s Merlot is a classic red wine. As dark blue-red grape, the name is thought to be derived from the word, “Merle,” which means “blackbird” in French. This wine pairs well with a variety of meals.

Old Oliver Cabernet Sauvignon
Red | 2017 California
A drier red, Painter Creek’s Cabernet has a smooth, definite flavor while keeping dry undertones. This wine is a great pairing with meat dishes and aged cheeses.

Sweet Harvest LaCresent
White | 2017 Minnesota/California Grape
A sweeter white, Painter Creek’s LaCrescent is a white grape varietal developed by the University of Minnesota. Known for its ability to handle winter temperatures of -35 degrees with minor losses, the LaCrescent carries aromas of apricot, peach, citrus and pineapple.

Anchors Away Chardonnay
White | 2017 California Grape
A crisp white, Painter Creek’s Chardonnay will be sweet, yet smooth. With origins in Eastern France, Chardonnay is a green-skinned grape variety with neutral, unwavering flavors. Our Chardonnay pairs well with salads, seafood dishes and vegetable pastas.

Route 26 Frontenac Dessert Wine
Red | 2017 Minnesota
Painter Creek’s Route 26 Frontenac is a nice table wine loved by many and known for its sweet flavors and distinct aroma of chocolate and raspberry. This wine is best paired with after-dinner treats.

These wines are in limited quantity – catch them in our tasting room before they’re gone!

  • Mulled Wine. This warm wine is made from Painter Creek’s Marquette Red, with added tastes of cinnamon, honey, oranges and clove. Great for a chilly day!
